Signs of Spring! Finally!
May 1, 2008
Spring this year has been a long time coming, and it seems to be at least a month behind Salt Lake. Sigh. But Finally I saw flowers (most were flattened by last weeks snow) and other signs of spring, like the (almost) ice-free river:
There was a loon in the river, which was very beautiful. Unfortunately the bugger dove every time I tried to take its photo.
Wouldn’t you like to live in a green building?
I’m not quite sure what the tufta arch signified, but it is kind of cool structure. The building behind is a wonderful green all over! Too bad I have my heart set on a backyard and garage.
And of course, we woke up this morning to a few centimetres of snow on the ground…. Happy May Day! Workers Unite!
We had snow this morning too. Blech!
Hey! We had snow, too. None of the snowpack has melted and they had waste deep powder at Snowbird. At least you have all the spring flowers to look forward to.
Spring in Calgary often involves snow. Same with May Long weekend and the August long weekend in the mountains (just to warn you if you plan on camping that weekend).
I saw a beaver on my walk to work this morning!?
