Bad Hat!

January 8, 2009

This hat had so much promise, it was so pretty, I tried it on as I made it, it seemed to fit just fine, and the KnitPicks Superwash is lovely and soft just perfect for hats.  It was a bit deep, but I didn’t think that matter toooo much.  Then I finished it and washed it where it loosened up like nobodies business and became this huge bag:

No choice but to frog this sack and make a pair of mittens instead I’m afraid!

Sniff, it had so much promise and it just let itself go like that!

Oh noes! Too bad – it looks like it would have been a cute hat. Maybe you can use it as a bowling ball cozy.

Well it won’t felt if it’s superwash (that’s the whole point afterall – that you can machine wash it and it won’t shrink) but you could line it and make it into a purse – I know I couldn’t bare to frog it. Another possibility is to stick your hair up on top of your head and keep it out of your eyes that way. 🙂 Just a suggestion!

Superwash just doesn’t have much memory. Too bad as that hat was a bunch of work!
